Mike Sheehan is an award-winning composer, producer and sound designer specializing in music for film and games. With over 20 years of music production experience, his work seamlessly blends orchestral textures with modern electronic elements and immersive sound design.
A classically trained musician who began piano at age seven, and now a multi-instrumentalist across many genres, he began composing for film, games and media full-time after attending college for music production and audio engineering. His ability to adapt across genres and instrumentation has made him a versatile collaborator for filmmakers and game developers alike.
His work has gained international recognition, earning first place and finalist honors across multiple scoring competitions. His scores have been featured in various international film music festivals and praised by industry leaders, including Principal Lecturers in Film Music at England's renowned Leeds Conservatoire, who called his writing "brilliantly authentic" and "a breath of fresh air."
Mike's credits include composing for The Northern Film Orchestra and collaborating with talent from major productions such as "The Chosen" and "Chicago P.D." His scores have drawn acclaim from both clients and industry leaders for their emotional depth, clarity of storytelling, and attention to detail.
His hybrid musical approach, incorporating both classical instrumentation and modern synthesis, has become a signature element of his work across film, games, and media. Alongside orchestral instrumentation, Mike incorporates the use of many analog and vintage synths, including some passed down by artists like Tycho, Kimbra, and Jim James of My Morning Jacket.
Beyond composition, Mike is a seasoned mastering engineer. With over two decades in the industry and having founded and managed his own recording studio, he brings a comprehensive understanding of the entire audio production chain to his work - ensuring polished, broadcast-ready scores with meticulous attention to detail, narrative emotion, and a love of storytelling through music.
